Roosevelt Manor

In 1923 L. H. Chamberlain acquired land to build single-family homes in an area he called Chamberlain Heights. In 1933 the Shoppes at Roosevelt were opened as the first shopping center in the state. The white-brick Roosevelt Manor Apartments, built in 1965, feature large kitchens, spacious bedrooms, and abundant closet space. Roosevelt Manor is convenient to downtown Des Moines and the entire DM Metro, and only one block to the Shoppes at Roosevelt, labeled “the tastiest corner in Des Moines.”
